Dive the Farasan Banks – pristine and untouched area. Big fish, wall and blue dives await you on this winter Saudi scuba diving itinerary. This is the place that Jacques Cousteau during his first expedition to the Red Sea in 1963 aboard the Calypso described as one of the most fascinating and unspoiled areas on the planet.
Discover the untouched beauty of the Farasan Banks, starting from the port of Al Lith. This itinerary takes you through rarely explored reefs, volcanic formations, and remote islands shaped by wind and sea. Encounter whale sharks, hammerheads, and tiger sharks in pelagic-rich waters, and dive among coral-covered walls rising from the depths. Between dives, explore emerald lagoons and sandy shores where turtles nest and seabirds gather. A journey where every site reveals a part of the Red Sea that remains wild and preserved.
You are expected to see whale sharks, hammerheads, tiger sharks, reef white, reef black tip, mantas, turtles and a variety of hard and soft corals.
Be among the first generation of divers to explore Saudi Arabia’s Farasan Banks — a destination once documented by Cousteau, now open for those who seek true exploration.

Saturday Arrival to Jeddah international airport. Transfer to Al-lith port. Sunday – Thursday
We begin the day with early morning navigation. After approximately three hours at sea, we arrive at our first dive sites. One of the highlights is Mar Mar Island, offering both a stunning dive and a calm anchorage for the night.
From there, we explore the nearby islands of Dohra, Jadir, and Malathu, as well as the outcropping reefs of Gorgonia, Bandu, and Long Reef, each offering diverse marine life and healthy coral systems.
Continuing south, we reach a second reef zone that includes Sha’ab Ammar, a large horseshoe-shaped reef that also serves as an overnight mooring point.
Further along our journey, we dive around the islets of Danak, Jabbara, and Eagle, and explore the coral atolls of Mudarr, Fantasy, and Choppy—all known for their rich biodiversity and unique underwater formations.
Across these plateaus, divers will encounter an impressive variety of hard and soft corals, along with dense populations of reef and pelagic fish. On the outer drop-offs, typically facing north and south, it’s common to witness schools of hammerhead sharks, and with some luck, even tiger sharks, which have been spotted regularly at several dive points.Friday Dive Canyoun Reef , Back to the port of Al-lith. Saturday After Breakfast, Transfer to Jeddah Airport for final departure.
